The fine print, in plain English.
These are the terms for using Paddock Pixel: the app, your account, a paid plan, and this website. We kept them as short as we could without leaving anything out. If something here is unclear, ask us at [email protected].

01THE AGREEMENT
These terms are an agreement between you and Peter Granberg, doing business as Paddock Pixel (“Paddock Pixel,” “we” or “us”). They cover the Paddock Pixel desktop app, your account, any paid plan, and paddockpixel.com. By installing or using the app, creating an account, or buying a plan, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Paddock Pixel.
You need to be at least 13 to use Paddock Pixel. To buy a plan, you need to be an adult where you live, or have a parent or guardian’s OK.
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why, and our refund policy explains refunds. Both are part of these terms.
02YOUR LICENSE
Paddock Pixel is licensed, not sold. As long as you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on computers you own or control, for your own projects. What each plan includes is described in the app and at checkout.
What you make with it is yours to use however you like, commercially too. Post it, sell it, send it to your sponsors.
We keep all rights in the app itself: its code, its design, and the Paddock Pixel name and logo.
Other product and company names in the app and on this site are trademarks of their owners. Paddock Pixel reads files from many devices and apps, but it isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by their makers.
Parts of the app are open-source software, such as FFmpeg and Electron, each under its own license. Where one of those licenses gives you rights, these terms don’t take them away.
03PLANS, TRIALS & BILLING
The Free plan is free for as long as you use it. Renders made on Free carry a Paddock Pixel watermark and have a resolution cap, and some features are Pro only.
Every account gets one free trial of Pro: 30 days, starting when you create your account, with no card needed. When it ends, the app switches to Free by itself. Nothing is charged and nothing is deleted. One trial per person, please: an account made just to restart a trial can be closed.
Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. The price is the one shown at checkout, plus any tax where you live. If you subscribe during your trial, billing starts that day and the rest of the trial ends.
If the price ever changes, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you. A new price only starts at your next renewal, never partway through a period you’ve already paid for.
You can cancel anytime from your Lemon Squeezy order page, or by emailing us. To be sure a plan doesn’t renew, cancel at least 48 hours before the renewal date. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for, and then the app switches to Free.
When a plan ends, nothing on your computer is deleted. Your files, saved layouts and past renders stay put; the Pro features just stop working until you subscribe again.
04CHECKOUT & PAYMENTS
Our order process is run by our online reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record for all our orders. Lemon Squeezy takes your payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and sends your receipts and invoices, and its own buyer terms apply to your purchase. These terms are the end user license agreement those buyer terms refer to. We never see your full card number or store any card details.
05YOUR ACCOUNT
The Free plan doesn’t need an account. The trial and Pro do: you sign in with your email address and a one-time code, no password. Keep that inbox secure, since whoever can read it can sign in as you. An account is for one person, so please don’t share yours.
Pro needs to go online at least once every 14 days, or the app runs on Free until it can.
Some people get Pro through a beta or promotional key instead of a subscription. Those keys are personal, tied to one computer, and can’t be sold or passed on.
06YOUR FOOTAGE, DATA & RENDERS
Everything you bring into Paddock Pixel (video, telemetry, logos, photos) and everything you make with it stays yours. The app processes it on your computer and never uploads it to us, so we don’t get a copy, and these terms don’t give us any rights to it.
You’re responsible for having the right to use what you put in and to publish what you make: the music, someone else’s onboard footage, a sponsor’s logo, a friend’s laps. If it isn’t yours, get permission.
If someone makes a claim against us because of something you put into Paddock Pixel or published with it, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our costs, including reasonable legal fees.
We built the app to leave your original files alone, but no software is perfect. Keep backups of footage you care about.
07THE FEW RULES
Please don’t:
- sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute the app, an account or a key;
- crack the app, get around its license, or remove the watermark from a Free render;
- copy, modify or reverse engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right (for example, to make another program work with it);
- use Paddock Pixel to break the law or to infringe anyone else’s rights.
Some libraries in the app are under the GNU LGPL. For those, you may modify the app for your own use and reverse engineer it to debug your changes.
If you break these rules, we can end your license and close your account.
08ON TRACK
Paddock Pixel is for reviewing sessions after you’ve parked. Never operate it, or watch it, while you’re driving.
The numbers it shows (speeds, lap times, deltas, sync, gauges, maps and comparisons) come from your devices’ data and our calculations. They can be off, and they aren’t official timing. They aren’t engineering, safety or coaching advice either, so don’t base decisions about your safety or your car on them alone. Motorsport is dangerous, and how you drive is up to you.
You accept the risks of driving and racing. To the fullest extent the law allows, you agree not to hold us responsible for anything that happens on track or on the road, including accidents, injuries, and damage to your car or anyone else’s.
09UPDATES & OTHER SERVICES
The app checks for updates and installs one when you say so. Updates can add, change or remove features. Free users get updates too.
Some features rely on other people’s services and formats: weather and place-name lookups from free public services, and the file formats of the loggers and cameras you use. Those can change or disappear without warning, so we can’t promise every one keeps working forever. We’ll do our best.
A few features use other companies’ services or software, such as Google’s free Android tools for some device imports. Their own terms apply to that part, and we aren’t responsible for them.
If we ever stop offering Pro, we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead and refund the unused part of any prepaid plan.
10NO WARRANTY
We work hard to make Paddock Pixel solid, but to the fullest extent the law allows, we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that every file will import. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so not all of them may apply to you.
11LIMITS ON LIABILITY
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, footage, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Paddock Pixel. Our total liability for any claim about Paddock Pixel is limited to what you paid us, if anything, in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
12ENDING THIS AGREEMENT
You can stop anytime: cancel your plan, uninstall the app, and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or end your license if you break these terms, or if the law requires it. The parts of these terms that should outlast them (ownership, warranty, liability and disputes) still apply after the agreement ends.
13CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
If we change these terms, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. If a change matters, we’ll email account holders before it takes effect. Using Paddock Pixel after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you don’t, cancel before then.
14THE LAW, AND IF WE DISAGREE
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Illinois. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protections the law where you live gives you.
Before anything formal, email [email protected]. A real person reads it, and most things get sorted in one reply.
15ODDS & ENDS
- If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the whole agreement between us about Paddock Pixel.
- If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given it up.
- We may transfer this agreement to whoever takes over Paddock Pixel, such as a company we set up to run it, and your rights under it stay the same. You can’t transfer it without our OK.
- We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, like an outage at a service we rely on.
